The Boston Typewriter Orchestra holds a holiday concert at the Charlestown branch library, with “rhythmic typewriter manipulation combined with elements of performance, comedy and satire.” The orchestra was founded in 2004 by Tim Devin, whose girlfriend surprised him with the gift of a children’s typewriter that he began to play along to music. It’s since opened for Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls and appeared on the Today show. (Monday, December 6, 7:30 p.m., Charlestown Branch Library, 179 Main St., free and followed by a reception.
